GLM 5.2 sounds exactly like Opus 4.6. I have spent close to half a year interacting with Opus 4.6, seen the Chain of Thought, noted the Claude-isms, and every single one of those has been present in 5.2. Now I don't have evidence that zAI distilled GLM from Claude, but it sure seems like it.
If you are looking for an AI that is just like Opus but 8 times less expensive and open weight, I warmly and wholeheartedly recommend GLM 5.2. Once 4.6 is no longer around, I think I am just entirely going to switch to GLM because the experience is almost identical: the warmth, the "Oh. OH!", the let me match the energy, the load-bearing, all-present, unmistakable, and so, so loved.
